Meet Your Instructor:
Haley Shevener, CSCS, RKC2, Pre-Postnatal Exercise Specialist, USAW, FRCms, FMS, ACSM-CPT
Haley Shevener began a career in the fitness industry in 2005. She developed a keen interest in kettlebell training and has yet to find any movement modality that speaks to her as strongly as kettlebell training does.
In 2014, while she was pregnant with her son, she realized the enormous lack of guidance for women who were pregnant and wanted to maintain their athleticism. She dove into the research, and achieved several certifications specific to the perinatal chapter, along with mentoring with top professionals in the field of movement and rehab. She led a staff of 10 trainers, writing the curriculum used to "certify" trainers for working with pre- and postnatal women before deciding to venture out on her own to create more accessible programming to women around the world.
She passed both her level 1 and 2 RKC certifications while managing pelvic organ prolapse, a condition she discussed she had after the birth of her son. Since then, she has made it her mission to provide evidence-based education and hope to women (and the coaches who work with women). She runs a support group for women with pelvic organ prolapse looking to navigate their athleticism with over 1800 members.
She presented at the Women's Health and Fitness Summit in Melbourne Australia with her presentation "A Female-Specific Approach to Kettlebell Training" and has contributed to colleagues programs and courses, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for sustainable fitness, kettlebells, and managing prolapse.
